RK62M3

The RK-62 M3 (Rynnäkkökivääri 1962) is a 7.62x39MM Finnish assault rifle, its the third modernized iteration of the RK-62.

-History
It all started in the 1950's, when Finland wanted to replace their old M39 Mosin rifles. Finland purchased a couple of early Polish AK-47 rifles using it as the base for their new Assault rifle. And so was the RK-62 born in the Valmet factory. The Finnish defence forces adopted it in 1965 as the standard issue rifle with 350,000+ rifles being build. The Rifle performed extremely well, so well that its over 60 years still in service. In 2015 Finland decided to modernize its old kalashnikov rifle instead of adopting new 5.56 rifles. The First modernized rifle called the RK-62 M came in service in 2016. Later in 2019 an improved version called the RK-62 M2 and M3 came out, with the only difference between the M2 and M3 is that the M3 is cerakoted in OD green.

-Design
The RK-62(M3) uses a long stroke gas piston and rotating bolt, similair to the AK.
But there are some things different than your standard AK
All rifle receivers are milled (instead of later AK rifles being stamped), the RK-62(M2) has no sight block and the gas tube is simplified, the RK62(M3) uses an rear aperture rear sight and the front sight is fixed it to the gasblock.
The M3 has a MLOK handguard, 6 position Magpul stock, Magpul RVG frontgrip, improved fire selector, optic mount (all rifles are being fielded with modern optics), Borelock flashhider to mount a Suppressor and the M3 is cerakoted in OD green.
The RK-62 was a huge inspiration for the Israeli Galil. Or the galil is a indirect copy of it.

-Usage
The RK-62 M3 entered service in 2019 and its meant to serve until 2035. How many rifles are being modernized to the M2 and M3 variant is not sure. Its also not sure which units use these rifles (it seems also to be used by conscripts)
