HK G95 (HK416A7)

The HK G95 is the standard issue assault rifle for the German special forces. The G95 is the German military designation of the HK416A7 and it was adopted in 2019. The HK416 itself was came out in 2004 and has been known as a high quality top-notch assault rifle in use be countless special forces units and as a standard issue rifles for a couple of countries.

The G95 & HK416 is based of the AR-15, but instead of using a stoner's internal piston system, the G95 & HK416 use a short stroke gas piston based of the G36. The upper receiver and bolt carrier group is modified to accomodate the external piston system.

The G95 is designed for the German KSK and KSM special forces unit. During field testing of the rifle it was known as the HK416A7. It is similar to the HK416A5 variant but with a 45-degree safety selector, that rotates 45 degrees rather than 90 degrees as on the A5 variant safety selector. The new configuration of the selector is comparable to those of aftermarket 45-degree safety selectors. The G95 also features a HKeyMod rail system, which is more lightweight than the traditional Picatinny rail systems. It is important to note that the HKeyMod rail system is also compatible with the HK416A5 variant.

The G95A1 is a modernized variant of the G95 which will be the new standard issue rifle for the entire German military. It features a stock with a adjustable cheek riser, different grip, different color scheme and a shorter handguard to make it lightweight enough for the German military's requirements.
