Famas F1

The Famas F1 (Fusil d'Assault de la Manufactre d'Armes de Saint-étienne) is a french bullpup assault rifle from the late 70's. The iconic french bullpup is still in service by the French army but is now being replaced by the German HK416F

-History
Development began in 1967 and production began in 19??. The French were already experimenting with bullpup assault rifles and in the '60s the french high command asked MAS to create a 5.56 assault rifle. And from the different prototypes, this model was chosen. The Famas was adopted in 1978.

-Design
The Famas uses a lever delayed blowback mechanism which is unusual to see in an assault rifle. The shell of the rifle is made from polymer and of course, most parts on the inside are made of metal. The Famas has a huge carry handle with the sights integrated into it and underneath it there's a trigger style charging handle. The Famas can be easily changed to a left-handed configuration.
