The Dutch Galil, Mn.1 & Mn.2

The Nederlandsche/Nederlandse Wapen en Munitie Fabriek (Dutch Weapon and munition fabriek) produced Galil rifles around the 1970s for the European market. NWM The rifles were designated MN. 1 and MN. 2, both of the rifles never made it to full production and wear soon after forgotten.
The history of the rifles is further unknown, one MN. 1 is stored behind glass at the National Military Museum in Soesterber and visible for the public, but the MN. 2, seems to be forgotten or lost.
While the MN. 1 is a direct copy of the Galil ARM, the MN. 2 has some noticable differences. Like a longer wooden handguard, new type of charging handle slot, new type of selector, pistol grip and magazine well.
Later in the 80's, the Dutch army and navy trialed several assault rifles including the IMI Galil model 707, this rifle did not make it past the trials and in the end the Diemaco C7/C7A1 was chosen
